Well, it goes by many names; Noshember, Movember, and Man Month - but its most common name is No Shave November. That's right; the Defiance College Baseball Team will be participating in the most "manly" challenge of them all. The DC Baseball Yellow Jackets will go thirty (30) days with no razors touching their bearded perfection, in order to raise money for a more than noble cause.
The first annual DC Baseball HuMANly Month Fundraiser will directly benefit the Fort Defiance Humane Society, all money raised will go toward the care of ill and injured animals that enter the facility, the control of the stray pet population through the Society's spay/neuter program, and to various other monetary items (i.e. food, toys, flea products, etc.).
During the off-season and throughout the month of October, each DC Baseball player will be spreading the word about their newest fundraiser, and also attempting to find sponsors. Each Niner is responsible for obtaining at least one sponsor for their beard, sponsors can choose to donate a set ($) amount per day (ex. $1.00 per day) that the player remains unshaven. On October 31st, aka Shave Day, pledge sheets will be submitted - and on November 1st, beard growing will commence!
The purpose of this fundraiser is to raise as much awareness as possible for the city's Humane Society. We're hoping to make our first ever HuMANly Month Fundraiser, a November to Remember!
